Have you thought about remodeling a room in your house, tearing out a 3-season porch, or adding a room? Minnesota Smith alumna Melanie Kiihn '93 will consult with you about your hopes, plans and wild ideas and help you formulate next steps. It will start with a 1-2 hour review of the project. Smaller projects are recommended (remodel a kitchen or bath), but are not required.
Following the consultation, Melanie will provide a written list of suggestions with sketches to help get you started. Whether it’s a DIY project or you’ll be working with contractors, you’ll start the project more focused. Melanie has an MA from Yale, is a registered architect with 10 years of experience and specializes in the following:
- Residential Homes and Additions
- Sustainable building
- Design for historic homes
Thank you, Melanie!

Dear Minnesota Alums,
This is just a brief note to thank you all for everything that you did to help me toward graduation in the last 4 years. From the time when I was a prospie going to teas and having my interview, your Club was incredibly welcoming + warm. Getting my rose when I was admitted was such a special moment and your care packages during finals time completely brightened my day. I've loved meeting you and getting to know the world beyond Smith through you all.
More than all those things, though, I wanted to thank you for all the money you fundraise for the scholarship that allowed me to attend Smith. I don't think I could have even considered applying to Smith without scholarships available. I met so many amazing people, I did a semester abroad, I wrote a senior thesis with original research, + I learned so much thanks to your contributions.
I'm so honored to have joined such an incredible group of alums.
Madison, we're so happy for you!

A reminder will be sent a few weeks before the field trip in 2017 with instructions on where to meet.

Thank you, Anna and Shirley! Remember, mark your calendars for Smith Day on Sep 10.
We're looking forward to hearing from everyone,
