Join Smith alums, family and friends for a private tour of the exhibition Hazel Belvo: For Love at the Minnesota Museum of American Art (“The M”).
Board Chair Ann Ruhr Pifer (Smith ’87) and Executive Director Dr. Kate Beane will discuss Hazel Belvo’s importance as a leading feminist artist, as a teacher, and as one of the founding members of WARM, the Women’s Art Registry of Minnesota. The exhibition is a career retrospective that highlights Hazel’s focus on human relationships, her strong sense of place, and her feminist world view. From delicate drawings to monumental paintings, Belvo’s work honors intimate moments of love and connection, as well as nature and spirituality. Hazel and her partner artist Marcia Cushmore plan to join us as well!
