Smith History Professor Darcy Buerkle will present “Learning from Smith and Its Histories.” She is an award-winning professor and currently the elected chair of the Smith College Faculty Council. She was also on the recent presidential search team. She observes, “Student interest in the stories of Smithies who have come before them has always been strong. Similarly, they have long had an interest in the legacy of the College as an institution. But in 2017, their understanding of the implications of those stories became much more immediate; their listening more acute.” Darcy will share her experiences with us.
