MN Smith Club Reads: My Dear Hamilton
Last year, our Club read two great books from earlier in the 20th century. Now, we’re diving into a new book by a Smith alum! Join us in our Winter Read of My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray ’93 and Laura Kamoie.
Barnes and Noble offer this description: “From the New York Times bestselling authors of America’s First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton—a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. Haunting, moving, and beautifully written, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza’s story as it’s never been told before—not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal—but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.”
Read it over the next two months and then we’ll gather for discussion in March. Looking forward to your thoughts and insights on this book and the woman it portrays.
And more…
Have you perhaps noticed that our website is sadly out of date? I have. Well, be of good cheer. We are working on launching a new web design that will be easier to use and easier to update. We’re looking forward to it and hope you’ll find it helpful when it is up and running (maybe spring!).
Until then, watch your email for periodic updates on Smith College Club of Minnesota activities and events.
